I can’t believe it’s been a year since I turned thirty! If you recall, last year I had a big birthday party — my Nerdy Thirty — AND I immediately went to my first Meadowfabulous. This year Meadowfabulous WAS my birthday celebration. Though it was hard to not be surrounded my close friends on my special day, it was nice to not have to worry about planning anything special and surrounding myself with my new (and getting closer) friends. With zero pressure on myself, I just kicked back and enjoy whatever the day brought. And you know what? It was pretty much one of the best days of my life — stuffed full of almost everything I love the most in the world.
Here’s a rundown (mostly in photos) of all the wonderful things I did on the day I turned 31:
I woke up in a tent in the middle of the most amazingly beautiful woods.
Even spider webs look gorgeous here.
Ate a delicious breakfast with my husband in the meadow.
Obviously I got to spend the day with these two incredible people.
Aaron and I bounced on the trampoline — I sadly don’t have a photo of this.
It was an absolutely perfect summer day, so we all just lounged around. I liked laying on Aaron’s tummy on a big ‘ol blanket.
It just got better when Aaron started playing guitar.
I just couldn’t get over the fact that I was sun bathing in freaking Seattle.
Later there was posing for photos in the Meadowfab photo booth:
Ariel Van Squirrel bomb!
There was more eating and hanging around the fire.
And then more pit bull cuddles!!!
I mean, look at that face!
Then there was a lovely nap in the tent with Aaron. (no pics)
Then it was costume change time for the Saturday night talent show. That means I got another chance to wear our kigurumi suits!
Screw cake — for dessert there was home-made crisp and huckleberry ice cream. That’s my OMG! face.
Oh oh! And my birthday included a freaking FIRE SHOW. No biggie or anything. This was awesome.
Throw in some margaritas, s’mores, and a super sweet rendition of Ariel’s special birthday song, and I had THEE best birthday with zero planning. I couldn’t have been happier.
