Young Megan: The Dork is strong with this one

Wrote a post on Offbeat Home that references a “young Megan” and so, of course, Ariel asked [read: demanded] that I link to this picture. (I have a sneaking suspicion that my darling boss actually has that link bookmarked, because I thought of this photo the other day and then thought “sigh, it’s somewhere on Twitter, I don’t feel like searching for it.” And then BOOM! Ariel links me to it no problem.)

So now I’m post it here for easy finding, for posterities sake, and so that we can all have a good laugh.

Ladies and gentlebergs, I give you Young Megan:

Looking at photo albums that my mom made and then gave to me. Can't believe my parents let me go to school looking like this.

    I swear I don’t have it bookmarked — it’s just REALLY easy to find via http://twitter.com/offbeatbride :)

OMG! I had ginormous glasses that covered most of my face and had them held on with a chain thingy too! Only mine was neon yellow…

Have to admit as soon as I saw there was a link to Young Megan in the article I clicked it to find out what would be revealed on the far end. Also for some reason I keep imagining that people would actually call you Young Megan and at some point you graduated to being Megan, like Young Neil in Scott Pilgrim.

Also I never had glasses as a kid but my brother did and I’m pretty sure those are the exact ones I picked out as the “best” while waiting for him to get done with eye tests. I remember thinking thick frames are better because they make the pattern easier to see as well.

Okay, first of all — that made me snort out loud in bed next to my (previously) sleeping husband.

And second: that particular pattern was called “cotton candy” and it was like all these hideous pastel colors swirled around and I did, indeed, think they were the “best” frames. The problem: CLEARLY they were not and SOMONE who had graduated past “young” status should have said — errrrrr no. I’m not letting you wear those hideous things.

CLEARLY, if SOMEONE didn’t let Young Megan wear those glasses, then Megan would be writing how SOMEONE didn’t let her pick out her own glasses! Anyway, I adore Young Megan in those Cotton Candy glasses (and bow:)
    xoxo,
    SOMEONE
