So I did my first wedding as “Megan Finley Photography” this past weekend. Holy Hell it was awesome! It was nerve wracking and terrifying and stressful as all get out, but it was a whirlwind of fun at the same time. I freaking love my job. Victoria and Shawn were my very first couple and from the moment I walked into her aunts house (the site of the reception and wedding central) I fell in love with everybody I met. So that love and positivity made it such an easy wedding to shoot.

Of course there were problems… the main one being that my new Canon 50D died on me. I got some error message “Err 99” and it was not good. Luckily this happened half way through the reception and I had my Rebel with me, and, though it was almost out of batteries, it help up through the rest of the reception! We also had an awesome photo shoot with this great classic car, but since the wedding had taken place at high noon, the lighting was a disaster. But finally by the end of the classic car shoot, I captured my favorite picture of the day…

Yay for goofy wedding parties, classic cars and a gender-blind wedding party!

But, camera and lighting issues aside, I am super duper pleased as I go through all the photos — Coco and I did a bang up job of documenting this wedding and I am feeling very proud of us. It looks like “Megan Finley Photography” is going to be quite successful. WE CAN DO IT!

And right now I’m in the midst of obsessively editing the photos and trying to ignore the fact that I’m sick. Yup, the stress and the exhaustion of the wedding day took my little throat ache to a full blown cold. But that’s okay. I also came home to beautifully clean living room since Aaron decided to clean while I was working the wedding AND he’s been a doll and has been walking the dogs for me so that I don’t have to get up and move too much. With his wonderful support, I should be better in no time.
